ROANOKE TEA PARTY ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

Roanoke, VA--August 10, 2009--On August 15, 2009, Roanoke Tea Party is holding a mass meeting at the Roanoke Civic Center in the Special Events Building at 1:00 P.M.
Event Organizer, Christy Bowles, is asking patriots from across the valley to come together to develop strategies to help counter the fiscally irresponsible and Constitutionally questionable policies espoused by Washington. Programs like Cap and Trade and Socialized Medicine violate the basic tenets of the Constitution and we must oppose these assaults on our country.

The purpose of the up-coming meeting is to gather together citizens from across the area to educate neighbors, mobilize for rallies, hold voter registration drives and other efforts to hold our elected officials accountable for their policy decisions.

Chip Tarbutton stated, "The level of frustration amongst my neighbors and friends has reached a boiling point! We bristle at the assertion that a political party funds us, or that we represent a special interest group. The Roanoke Tea Party is a non-partisan group and does not support any political party. Few of us have ever been actively involved in politics but we fear the way our nation is headed and feel obligated to act now to protect our country."

No matter your political affiliation; no matter what party you represent, we need your involvement if you agree with the core principles of The Roanoke Tea Party:

1. Rule of Constitutional Law & National Sovereignty
2. Limited Government based on 10th Amendment Federalism
3. Private Property & Free Market Economics
4. Individual Liberties

Bowles states that she is "excited about the opportunity to harness the energy and passion of local citizens to make a real impact on the political situation. This organizational meeting will be the springboard that will allow this movement to have a broader affect on local, state and federal issues.
